The Motorcycle Diaries (2004)

A stunning film, filled with stunning scenery and telling the story of some of the influences that molded a young man into the politically awakened Che Guevara, I should have watched it when it was released instead of waiting to get it on a free from the video shop. Fortunately it isn’t heavy on politics but rather concentrates on the people and attitude’s of South America whilst telling the story of his motorbike journey across the continent with his best friend Gael Garcia Bernal. At times it can be a little slow and definitely wont appeal to those amongst us who crave action, guns and explosions. Telling a beguiling story it should enthrall most but especially those with an interest in humanity or the worlds supposed lack of it.
